WAXFLOWER REAL BRIDES | SOPHIE IN CORA BY SUZANNE NEVILLE
Swept up in the magic of Leigh Court and its stunning Grade II listed house, bride and groom Sophie and Ed tied the knot early this May 2024. And the dress? It was Cora by Suzanne Neville that secured this bride’s heart.
Wedding Date: 11th May 2024
Bride’s name and partner: Sophie and Ed
Waxflower bride Sophie took to the aisle wearing our ultra elegant Cora gown by British bridal designer, Suzanne Neville. Part of the label’s 2022 Nova Collection, this truly dreamy design just breathes sophistication, and worked perfectly with Sophie’s style and chosen accessories. Featuring a stylish halterneck bodice, with clean lines and an aisle-worthy train, it was everything she had been searching for from a wedding dress. Read on to discover everything about Sophie’s Waxflower wedding dress journey (from the bride herself) including how she discovered the Bristol bridal boutique, to her favourite wedding day moment and the advice she’d give to other brides like you…
#1 How did you discover Waxflower Bridal?
“I first found Waxflower Bridal online by searching bridal boutiques in Bristol.”
#2 What drew you to visiting the boutique?
“I wanted to come and try on Cora by Suzanne Neville (the dress I ended up choosing)!”
#3 Who did you bring with you to the initial appointment?
“My Mum and sister both came with me for my wedding dress appointment.”
#4 What type of wedding dress were you looking for? Did you have an idea in mind?
“I was looking for a dress that was simple and elegant, and not too traditional. I looked up which sort of styles would suit my body type and I didn’t want a big ‘poofy’ dress that would swamp me!”
#5 How were you feeling about the dress shopping experience before visiting Waxflower?
“Excited but nervous that I wouldn’t like anything!”
#6 How many dresses had you tried on before visiting Waxflower?
“Waxflower was my one and only dress shop! And, in fact, the first dress I tried on was the one I ended up choosing!”
#7 How did you feel walking into the Waxflower boutique?
“I was excited to start trying the dresses on! I think the setting is lovely and Kathy made me feel very comfortable and special.”
#9 How many dresses did you try on?
“I tried on about eight variations of dresses/separates.”
#10 Tell us about the moment you tried on ‘the one’…
“It was definitely a great moment, knowing that the one I had hoped would work, worked. It felt very ‘me’ and I think suited my style. I am a big halterneck fan, so I naturally gravitated towards this.”
#11 How did you end up styling your wedding ensemble?
“I chose a beautiful veil with a satin trim that was double layered and shorter in length, which framed the dress shape nicely.”
#12 How did you feel in your bridal look on your wedding day?
“I felt really comfortable and importantly, like myself!”
#13 Your favourite moment from the big day was…
“We were so lucky with the weather and in the early evening there was a beautiful moment where our Spanish guitarists were playing and I walked down the steps out to see our friends and family in the evening sun drinking and having fun! It was gorgeous.”
#14 The funniest moment was…
“On the dance floor, generally! Being on my less-than-sober sister-in-law’s shoulders was funny and nerve-wracking in equal measure. Oh, and the DJ requests – we went on a Happy Hardcore rabbit hole! Not my choice – for the record!”
#15 Your advice for other brides-to-be would be…
“Lap up every minute! And, really don’t worry too much about timings/the order of events – unless you tell all of your guests every micro-detail, they won’t know what’s going on. They are there wanting to enjoy your day so remember that!”
#16 What was your overall experience like at Waxflower? Would you recommend us to other brides?
“Kathy at Waxflower Bridal was brilliant! From start to finish, she made me feel like me: I felt so comfortable and Kathy was so helpful styling and talking to me about what might work in terms of hair/ veil etc. Would totally, totally recommend Waxflower! Such a beautiful range of options for any bridal style.”
